OK, it may not be strictly Bankruptcy related, but here is a list of the Top-10 Securities scams according to the Illinois Secretary of State (I thought it would make interesting reading). Obviously, not all of the following are fraudulent all of the time. Nonetheless, the SOS thought that these items were important enough to mention:

3 Promissory Notes
4 Unscrupulous Brokers
5 Affinity Fraud
6 Unlicensed Securities peddlers (including Insurance Agents)
7 Prime Bank Schemes
8 Internet Fraud
9 Mutual Funds
10 Variable Annuities
